Backlog at Embassy of Ireland, New Delhi

I wrote to the Hon'ble Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Simon Coveney in regards to the immense backlog that exists at the Irish Embassy in New Delhi.

In my letter to the Minister dated 16th October 2018, I raised my concerns over the time taken to process student visa applications and stated that many students post paying full college fees end up losing their once in a lifetime opportunity to study abroad.

I also expressed my worry over the 16 weeks time period taken by the embassy to process join family visas. Below is their reply:

Current processing time dated 08th February 2019.

Prior to writing to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Simon Coveney, I raised this issues with Education in Ireland, Irish Universities Association, Irish Council for International Students, Senator Neale Richmond and Department for Justice and Equality.
